Roger Manceaux is five generations in the industry and exists because Roger did well in his school exams – the story goes that Roger was offered a plot of land or a bicycle if he did well at school. With great insight, Roger Manceaux now owns a total of 12ha dotted across different Premier and Grand Cru Villages. The magic of Roger Manceaux is the ability to produce many different styles and flavours from the different grapes and terroirs.

A golden yellow color, with aromas of brioche, plum and nutmeg. Perfectly balanced on the palate between acidity and aromatic richness. Flavours of biscuit and cherry brandy, punctuated by a tonic finish of the zest of lemon. The robust personality of this champagne means that it can be enjoyed during a meal with dishes such as roast game and full-flavoured sauces.
Cameron Douglas, Master Sommelier: A deep straw and golden hues with an even bead lead to a bouquet and palate of weight and richness, flavours of aged pear and baked apple, then citrus; the autolysis is dense and rich, fruit flavours sit nicely mid-palate. The mousse is even with a fine to moderate bubble, the texture is satin-like and the finish is crisp, dry and slightly saline. There’s a chalky and white clay mineral seam adding complexity and breadth. Balanced, well made and lengthy. best drinking from 2023 through 2030. 93+ Points (=”EXCELLENT”), Nov 2023.
